Embossed version

This is the same Magenta stamp I used a few days ago, However this time I embossed the image with White super fine powder. Then I rubbed pumice stone distressed ink around on the image, and colored with copics to highlight the flower and the stem. The image was cut out and attached to several layers of cardstock. I used the scor-pal to create the lines to frame the image. Today the boys and I are off to town to run errands and then to the Park, it looks like it's going to be a beautiful day!

Justrite

These images by Justrite, are so fun to color. The image was colored with copics then cut out and attached to two sized of deckled oval frames. The sentiment is from PTI and also attached to two sizes of rectangular deckled die cuts. The background swirl is from Hero Arts, and stamped in Pigment cool peri ink.

Today looks like it will be a beautiful day, looking forward to playing outside and getting my herb gardens ready for planting! Owen is so eager to plant, Saturday I let him plants some sunflowers and wildflower seeds. Hopefully by early next week we will be able to plant everything without worring about frost. We are also eagerly anticipating our purple martins, they seem to show up around Easter and we can't wait to hear them again!

Magenta card

The flower image is from Magenta, this is a beautiful image. The image is stamped in chocolate ink, then colored with copics, R20, & R22. The stem is colored with stampin' up certain celery. I used a spica buttercream gel pen for the inside stamins. Then I took Distressed ink in spun sugar and blended it on the stamped image. The image was die cut and then attached to chocolate cardstock. The pink is coordination embossed with cuttlebug. The border punch is MS, and the sentiment is PTI, and also blended with the spun sugar. Last I attached another piece of chocolate cardstock to frame the card.

After a raining morning the sun did come out so I could get some pictures! I spent yesterday at my friend Debbie's house and was very productive! I got quite a few images ready to make into cards so I should be a better blogger this week! Owen is out for Spring Break, which means digi aka Wyatt is able to nap longer! So I am looking forward to having some time in my Office this week! If the weather gets warmer I hope to take the boys to the Park, and/or Beach to play. However,  once again without my car, so it's the big Dodge for me! Chris and Owen hit a deer Thursday and it did considerable damage to my poor car. Tomorrow we have to take it to the autobody to find out the amount of damage. I love my car, so I am hoping it just gets fixed. It seems there is always something going on with us, just the way it is I guess. I am just so thankful the boys were okay. They were both pretty upset, we have always lived in rural areas, but this is our first and hopefully the last deer we will hit.

Daffodils

This daffodil is from PTI: Year of flowers set. On this I stamped the image 2 times, the colored the image using Distressed Inks: Bundled Sage, Scattered Straw, and Wild Honey. The Background (PTI) is stamped with Shabby Shutter to create the pattern. I have lot's of ideas for this stamp, and hope to get back into the groove of creating again! This weekend is going to be pretty busy, we have the gardens to till so we can plant our veggies in the next few weeks. Then there is a wonderful Herb & Garden Festival Sat. and Sun. I think I am going to go solo first and see what there is. Owen has asked to go, but I know he just wants to play on the playground so I think we will take the boys Sunday and I will spend a quiet Sat. afternoon collecting all my herbs for my garden. This year I plan to listen to my DH though, no planting until after Easter! Every year I get too eager and we alway have one more cold snap that kills or stunts my poor tender plants. I just can't wait for the veggies, and herbs to cook with!

Wonderful Dogwoods

I finally felt well enough to make a card yesterday, I love Spring but the pollen always gets me! Today it is raining so I had to work with the little bit of natural light through my french doors for my picture! Years ago I learned a technique where you emboss an image that was stamped on vellum. My friend has been doing these gorgeous cards where she embosses the cardstock and it reminded me of the vellum technique.

I stamped the image with black memento ink and let it dry, then I colored the image with copics, YG03,YG05, Y00, the flowers are RV10, RV11 and RV13. Next I took a foam pad, and my embossing tool and outlined the images from the back. Then I die cut it and decided to sew it to the cardstock, this is my first time sewing on a card, and it was so easy. I have no idea why I haven't done it before. Guess you can bet you will be seeing more of that! Then I used my scor pal to frame the image on the light green cardstock, then I did it again on the darker green. The sentiment was stamped and die cut and then attached to the ribbon. All stamps are Hero Arts. Hope you have a great start to your week!

Pink Tulip

I haven't felt much like creating since Sunday, both Wyatt and I either have a cold, or are suffering from allergies. Either way, when I get a stuffy head all I want to do is sleep! Wyatt on the other hand doesn't sleep and keeps me up a good bit of the night! So needless to say I am very tired.  But I wanted to have something to post on the blog.
The stamped tulip is by Magenta, the sentiment is from PTI and the dragonfly stamp is by Rubber Stamp Tapestry. The Tulip is colored with copics then I sponged the white paper with distressed ink in spun sugar. The edges are distressed and then colored with spun sugar again. Have a great day!

Brayer Class

This post is for my dear friend Debbie, who was unable to attend the class with me on Sunday and is dying to see what we made! I missed her terribly, the drive there and back was so boring! The class was amazing, and I learned so much. I can't wait to have some time to create using the techniques we learned. These are the cards we made in the class, we are allowed to post them, just not the instructions. Hope everyone has a great week, weather is beautiful here! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Friday!

This image is also one of Debbie's, I think I am going to have to buy this hydrangea stamp now! I do have one that I got off of Ebay years ago. It is a retired stampin' up set, I had to have it, I cringe thinking how much I paid for it and would you believe it has never been opened! This stamp is by Hero Arts, it is colored with copics, V000, V0000, V01, YG03, YG05 & YG06. The centers of the flowers I used a yellow glaze pen, and the PP is the new memory box line. Hopefully next week I will have some decent projects to show you from my brayer class in Raleigh! I am so excited I can't wait! It is going to be a long day though with time change and classes from 12 to 7 with an hour break! The boys and I are off to go to soccer practice, Owen's first game is tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Greenery

This is a new Hero Arts image I stamped at my friend Debbie's house on Sunday. It was stamped with colorbox white ink and embossed with detailed white powder. I sponged two of my new distressed inks Bundled Sage, and Wild Honey over the image. The image is cut out and then attached to the cardstock. The PP is from Cosmo Cricket, a scrap I had left over. I really need to start using my scraps! The sentiment is from PTI and stamped in PTI snow white ink.

On a trip to Kohls, we were looking for outdoor play toys and Owen found these bubble guns. They are neat idea, but they do not produce the WOW factor I think he was hoping for. If you push the trigger really fast you may get a few bubbles but that is it. Still looking for some easy, fun bubble toys as Wyatt love bubbles! Wyatt looked so cute playing I caught a few good pictures of him, Owen on the other hand, moves too fast for me to get many pictures!

Big Day!

I spent Sunday with a friend, a trip to Archivers, a delicious lunch and then back to her house to stamp. I stamped quite a few of her beautiful flower stamps, and colored away with my copics. This stamp is from Impression Obsession and I love it! I stamped it with Memento black ink, and then colored with YG 03,YG05 and YG06 for the leaves and stem. The purples are a mix of BV0000, BV02 and BV04. The sentiment is from PTI: Year of flowers, Violets. The script is embossed and distressed.  I love hydrangea's the most beautiful ones I have ever seen were in Cape May, NJ. There are so many houses with these bushes surrounding the house, so pretty. I have never had much luck with the ones we have. It gets so hot here they just end up wilting up before their blooms open fully. I may just have to go buy some silk ones I saw at Michaels to put around in the house.

Today was a huge breakthrough for Wyatt with his speech therapy. He has started to use a few two word phrases, such as more crackers, or bye Owen. However today he was working on a puzzle with shapes, and said to Channing (his therapist) but where circles go? We were both stunned, but both Channing and I were a little sad, since it mean he will be discharged soon. Which is a great thing, but we love his therapist and she adores Wyatt, we will miss her so much! This experience with Wyatt has shown me that timelines and expectations are standards that he doesn't need to follow. He has and probably will alway do things in his own time. For a Mom who likes to plan everything and needs to know what comes next it has been an adjustment, but something I think I needed to learn. In due time....

Warm week ahead

This card is similar to the first dogwood card I stamped, I stamped it in Rich Cocoa, and colored with copics, RV10,11,13 and Y0000 for the center . I decided to leave the leaves uncolored added coordinating papers distressed the edges of the light pink paper then stamped the sentiment in the cocoa ink.

I am so excited to see the forcast for this week, high 60 and maybe 70's, love it! Owen started soccer last week, and it was cold and windy for his first practice. Hopefully he won't have to bundle up this week. These warm spells always trick me though, I get so into getting ready to plant, and every year we end up getting one more frost. I have learned to wait until the 2nd week of April to put those tender new plants in the ground. Have a great day, I am off to play with my little one!

Red Poppies

I love Poppies, my Mom has a beautiful rock garden in MD, that is loaded with all kinds of flowers. She has quite a few different color Poppies and I adore them. She has an incredible green thumb, growing up she tried to get me interested in learning about types of flowers and gardening but I would have none of it. Fast forward a few years, and guess who married a landscaper? Me! LOL. It drives her crazy, now I love my gardens, granted I have a litte , um lot of help from my hubby, but I really enjoy it. I especially love my herb garden, since I love to cook, fresh herbs make the food taste so much better.

I stamped the Poppy image with Memento black ink, then stamped the french script two times in Memento chocolate ink. I colored the image with Copics R24, R27 & R29, the yellow is Y02 and Y04. Then I sprayed the image with Glimmer Mist in Wheatfield. It did make it a little too shiny, so it's a bit difficult to see the different color grades, but still a neat effect. Hope you have a great Friday, thanks for visiting!

White dogwood

Today it is not raining, but still windy making photographing cards a challenge. Once the sun came out behind the clouds I tried to snap a picture and ended up chasing the card across the yard! LOL! Anyway, this is a version of a white dogwood it is stamped with memento chocolate ink and colored with copics Y000, Y00 & Y01 for the flowers and YG05, & YG06 for the leaves. After I die cut it with the Label One from Nesties, I used old paper distressed inks to sponge around the image. Then I mounted it on a chocolate piece of cardstock then on yellow cardstock.  The sentiment is stamped in the same chocolate ink. All images from Hero Arts. Thanks for stopping by, I have been thrilled to be able to keep up with my blog, and I hope you find some inspiration here. I love browsing blogs and have a mile long list of ones I love to look at.

Dogwoods

Dogwood Stamp: Hero Arts, Image is stamped twice with Memento chocolate ink, the dogwood flowers are colored with copics, RV10, RV11 & RV13, and Y000 for the center.  They were cut out and then attached to the stem colored with YG05 and YG06, that was cut out using the label one die from spellbinders. The rick-rack border is from MS, it was punched then I embossed 3 lines using the scor-pal for some added dimension. The dark green paper was also emboseed with lines every 1/2" to add dimension. This stamp reminds me of the dogwoods we had on our property growing up, we had quite a few white dogwood. Then one year my brother and I bought my Mom a pink dogwood, it was so pretty.

Today was another icky, cold day in NC, I can't wait for Spring to get here! Owen had a two hour delay today due to the "possibility of snow", it was nice to sleep in for a change. Wyatt is having trouble taking his afternoon naps, and has been asleep in the car when we pick up his brother. So he has been pretty tired, which is the only reason I got to sleep in until 7:20,  I will take that any day! Today, Wyatt decided he wanted to ride with Daddy to take Owen to school. He brought Chris his jacket, socks and boots so Chris and Wyatt walked Owen into school. Chris said he was so excited and even got a chance to quickly check out Owen's classroom. He has been there a few times, but I don't think I have ever let him down to explore freely. After a few minutes Chris coaxed him out all without a tantrum, good job Daddy! Actually I think he bribed him with powdered donuts since he had the evidence all over him when he returned! I swear all that child does is eat, and I have no idea as little as he is how he can eat all the time! He will eat his dinner, then wander over to Owen's plate (who is picky) and eat everything off of his plate!

Poppies

You will probably get tired of seeing this stamp on the blog! I love coloring it with my copics, it is so relaxing to sit and let your mind wander while you color. Copics are by far my favorite coloring tool, although in a few weeks I am going to attend Michelle Zindorf's brayer workshops in Raleigh! I have been a follower of her blog http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/ for some time. Her cards are like minature works of art, and I am excited to get a chance to take the classes with her. So maybe soon you will see me using my brayer to create my cards!

I stamped the poppy stamp in Memento Rich Cocoa, I am loving this ink, then colored using copics YR14, 15,16 & 18 and Y02 for the center of the flowers. After the poppies were colored I sprayed them with Glimmer Mist Sunflower I like the effect these give. I stamped a text across the orange square with the Hero Arts chalk ink in Poppy the mounted it on yellow cardstock. The sentiment is stamped with the same brown ink and adhered to the cardstock.

Silhouette Flowers

I stamped memento chocolate ink then colored the flowers in using R20 and R22 and YG03 for the stems. The images was cut out and attached to an embossed pink background. All images are hero arts.

I cannot believe it is already March 1st! The last two months of the new year have been crazy busy, which is good, but it makes things fly by. I am ready for Spring planting and warm sunshine! Although the boys don't seem to mind the cold I do not enjoy it! I blame it on being born in Florida, I need warm weather to survive!
